In a child's life, the early years are the most crucial. As a company, we want to create an environment that not only values and encourages a child's own uniqueness, but also help them to grow emotionally and socially. By starting with the family environment, we try to find the deep-rooted issues that are affecting the child and work to form building blocks. These building blocks help strengthen the child's interests, curiosities and propel them into a more positive outlook.
Although we help each family explore their own specific dynamics, we also work closely alongside the South Broxtowe Schools Behaviour and Attendance Partnership (SBAP), SENCOs, Headteachers, as well as a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). By working with these services, we ensure the best up-to-date practice is done at all times.
Our mission is to be able to help any child that requires it within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Please help us achieve our mission by working directly with us and also recommending our service to other schools.
Here at PAS, we understand the issues children are facing every day. We want to support those where we can, in all aspects of life. Some of the biggest factors affecting children aged 10-11 are:
Family Support - Around 1 in 10 children habitually argue with their parents and 1 in 6 don't feel supported by their family*
Bullying - 1 in 20 children aged 10-11 are bullied multiple times a week and are 19x more likely to develop mental health difficulties by the age of 14*
Cyberbullying - 11 to 19-year-olds with a mental disorder were more than twice as likely as those without a disorder to have been cyberbullied in the past year**
Substance Abuse - 11 to 16-year-olds with a disorder were three times more likely to have tried a cigarette**
Appearance - Children aged 10-11 felt unhappy about their appearance and have an increased risk of developing mental health difficulties in later years*. This was more common in girls
Engagement with School - Lots of children find the transition from secondary to primary education difficult. Children who are unhappy with school at age 10-11 are more likely to have peer relationships at age 14-15*

We know that in recent years, funding for early intervention services has been drastically cut. Between the years 2011 and 2015, local funding for schools has been cut by almost 40%. As a company that puts a child's wellbeing first, we will always make sure a plan is in place that can not only benefit the child and parents, but also the school. The custom plan will allow schools to use our service, without worrying about the cost.
